Children’s Ministry Director

Part-Time 25 hrs/wk

Trinity Bible Church is a gospel-centered, non-denominational, baptistic church who participates in The Gospel Coalition, and appreciates the ministry of 9 Marks.  We’re growing and need help with our Children’s ministry.

The TBC Children’s Director is responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers for the overall Children’s Ministry from babies through 6th grade, providing eyes on the ground to make sure volunteers are following protocols and creating a safe and joyful environment for the children, working with the elders to identify the best gospel-centered material for all children’s activities, planning and coordinating all children’s events, making sure volunteers have the materials necessary to conduct children’s events, and encouraging and overseeing all deacons associated with Children’s ministries.

Description

Principal Function

The TBC Children’s Director is responsible for all children’s ministries programs and activities (including but not limited to: Wednesday Night Kids’ Club, Sunday School & Sunday Morning Service, SAF, and special programs).  The TBC Kids Director will attend staff meetings and will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor of Trinity Bible Church.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the shepherding of the Senior Pastor, to Administer a program of Christian education for children, and to create healthy contexts for children to learn about Jesus and make meaningful relationships.  

  • Love Jesus, the local church, and kids.
  • Be a member in good standing at Trinity Bible Church along with immediate family (if hired from outside one will join).
  • Upholds Trinity’s values in every aspect of ministry.
  • Teach and disciple others to teach appropriate lessons and activities for children.
  • Lead special teaching during children’s times during our Easter Egg Hunt etc.
  • Provide leadership to the Deacons over the various children’s ministries whose responsibility is to assist the TBC, Kids’ Director for planning, coordination, and implementing activities and other needs of the children’s program.
  • Coordinate a gospel-centered, joyful environment that welcomes visitors and exposes children to their need to respond to the gospel with faith and repentance.
  • Serve as a resource person to current trends and training opportunities in order to enhance our children’s ministry. Research, select, and implement the most appropriate children’s ministry curriculum with the Senior Pastor approval, and the other input of the Deacons over the Children’s area.
  • Administrate well enough that they are able to be in most Sunday Morning Worship Services, and who is present at Sunday School, Sunday Morning, Wednesday Nights, weddings, funerals, special services, and special events in order to welcome a connection with children and their families providing increased opportunities for a direct relationship with children and their families. 
  • Promote activities that provide a good public outreach extending from the children to both the TBC community and the community at large. 
  • As needed, Lead TBC Kids during Sunday worship services and recruit backups for Sunday Mornings if workers don’t show.
  • Plan, coordinate, recruit, and oversee the overall Summer Arts Festival program.
  • Plan training for Children’s Ministry Volunteers at least twice a year where workers are also encouraged.
  • Prepare an annual budget (in consultation with the leadership of the Deacons over children’s ministry), as it relates to the children’s ministry submitting to the elders by the annual requested date.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed

  • Knowledge of the Bible and Christian based principles and faith.
  • Ability to teach and lead children in a Christ-like manner.
  • Ability to coordinate activities (on and off campus).
  • Ability to operate computers and electronics for presentations and events.
  • Knowledge of Church budget status, spending procedures and ability to prepare annual Children’s Ministry budgets.
  • Ability to recruit and train volunteers.
  • Ability to have awkward conversations with grace and truth.
  • Ability to humbly resolve conflicts with a view towards restored relationships

Business Administrator

Full-Time 40 hrs/wk

Trinity Bible Church is a gospel-centered, non-denominational, baptistic church who participates in The Gospel Coalition, and appreciates the ministry of 9 Marks.  We’re growing and need help with our Business Administrator.

The TBC Business Administrator is responsible for supporting the Business Administrator in church business operation as directed.

Description

Principal Function

The priority task is performing the accounting function using a computer software accounting application. Additional responsibilities related to Budget, Employee Benefits, Rental Property Management, Church Facility Management, and Office Technology Support. This person will be under the direct supervision of the Associate Pastor.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Love Jesus, the local church, and family.
  • Be a member in good standing at Trinity Bible Church along with immediate family (if hired from outside one will join).
  • Upholds Trinity’s values in every aspect of ministry.
  • Perform accounting activities
  • Accounts Payable
  • Payroll
  • General Ledger
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Produce reports as needed
  • Coordinate with Offering Stewards
  • Make bank deposits
  • Process donations via PayPal
  • File Federal, State, and Local Taxes
  • Maintain Employee Benefits programs: medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement accounts (403b), and workman’s compensation.
  • Budget
  • Support Annual review and preparation of the budget
  • Track monthly income and spending
  • Report – monthly reports to the board
  • Rental Property Management - Includes: Tenant relations, communications, and leases for 5 Retail Suites, 1 restaurant and 3 cell towers. Coordinate Maintenance, Repairs and Insurance claims as needed.
  • Church Facility Management - Includes: Tracking utility usage (water and electricity for lights and a/c), schedule HVAC maintenance and repairs, Maintain insurance for our facilities and activities.
  • Office Technology Support - Includes: Interface with IT vendor for tech support of computers and network, Manage Copier lease and maintenance, Administer Telephone system.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed

  • Compatibility with Trinity’s Statement of Faith and Mission Statement
  • Above average computer literacy
  • AA or BA in Business or Accounting preferred but not required
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills

Accountability

  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings, including:
  • Weekly Staff meetings
  • Board of Elders meetings (when requested)
  • Maintain an attitude of cooperation with other staff members
  • Maintain a healthy spiritual life and wholesome relationships with family, staff, and community
  • Adhere to policies implemented by the Board of Elders
  • Maintain regular office hours as directed
